  2. Choose Needs attention and open a school with a missing or empty roster.
You should see: Its edit form and recent roster snapshots are visible.
  3. Correct the roster URL and choose Save school.
You should see: The saved URL is shown with a Locked chip.
  4. Choose Fetch and parse roster.
You should see: The button shows progress while Mosaic reads the page and checks a prior season if needed.
  5. Point out the lock chip and the player count in Status.
You should see: A valid posted roster has players; the URL stays locked so future discovery preserves your correction.

Check a school's fit for Logan

5 minutes

October 3, 2026

Sign in as an admin to show season history while family history visibility is off. Use Logan Waynick's latest completed report after the history refresh.

From the report to the school

  1. Open Logan Waynick's player page and latest completed report.
You should see: A ranked list of schools for Logan.
  2. On Logan's player page, point to the BestFit score and five-rung ladder.
You should see: The 1-100 score shows its baseline, travel bonus, statistics penalty, competitive tier and the school tiers included in a new report.
  3. Hover a question mark, then move into its explanation.
You should see: A short explanation stays open with a Read more link. Focus or tap works too.
  4. Find Molloy near the top of the list and open Details.
You should see: A new tab shows Molloy's fit for Logan, all 12 factor scores with reasons, and the live roster at middle infield: Competitive, about 2 returning middle infielders against a typical depth of 4.
  5. On Molloy's page, point to Last season in the roster table.
You should see: Matched players show their games played, games started and at-bats, or pitching appearances and innings. A dash means no matched line is available yet.
  6. Point to the Starter chips and the returning-starter count below Molloy's roster.
You should see: Amber Starter chips identify players who meet the season-statistics rule. Only returning starters weigh more in playability; first-year players and transfers in have no line here yet.
  7. Show History at your position and the season table.
You should see: Four seasons, 2022 to 2025, with high confidence: 7 or 8 middle infielders each year, 1 to 3 arrivals a season including one upperclassman, and 3 of 23 who left before graduating. A dash under Came in means the previous season was not collected.
  8. Search the table for Millersville and open Details.
You should see: Blocked: the live roster lists more than 3 returning middle infielders against a depth of 4, so its fit is capped at a B and it ranks well down the list. History is also four seasons with high confidence, read from the school's own season pages. The contrast with Molloy is the position: same quality of evidence, different answer.
  9. Scroll to the net price bands.
You should see: Five family income bands, with Your band marked when Logan's family supplied it and missing prices shown as dashes.
  10. Use the browser's Print command and show the preview.
You should see: The school page prints as one document, including its tables, without navigation links or help controls.

Showing Mosaic to a family

15 minutes

September 20, 2026

The click path for a first look with a parent and player. It uses a real player record you have already created. Keep the browser in light theme for a projector and dark for a laptop across a table. Say the number, then the letter, then point at the tiles; never explain the math first.

Start on the dashboard

Open /consultant signed in as a consultant.

  1. Point at the player's card.
You should see: A ring with a number and a letter, the position, the grad year, and a Done chip with the report date.
  2. Say: this ring is the best fit we found for you, out of every program in the states on the school list.

The player card

Click the player's name.

  1. Point at the BestFit score and tier ladder on the right.
You should see: A 1-100 player score and five competitive tiers, with the player's school range highlighted.
  2. Point at the metric bars below it. Read one out loud: exit velocity 92, and where the dot sits.
You should see: A bar per verified showcase number with the input and its 1-100 metric score.
  3. Say: this is where your numbers put you today, and the ladder moves when the numbers move.

Change one preference

Scroll to Preferences.

  1. Ask the family which factor matters most. Move that weight slider to 10.
You should see: The value chip next to the slider updates as it moves.
  2. Click Save preferences, then Run report.
You should see: The button says Starting report, then the report page opens with a progress bar: Queued, Scoring schools, Writing blurbs, Done, in about ten seconds.
If the room is quiet during the progress bar, say: it is scoring every school against what you just told it.

Read the report

  1. Point at the header ring and letter.
You should see: The top school's score counts up from zero and the top five tile strips fill in.
  2. Point at the top five cards. Read the school names, not the numbers.
  3. Pick one card and point at its tile strip. Hover a red or amber tile.
You should see: A tooltip with the factor, the score, and a reason such as 132 miles from home.
  4. Say: green is a match, red is a miss, gray is something we could not find out yet. The bright tiles are the things you said mattered most.
  5. Scroll to the table. Point at a Competitive or Blocked playability chip and read its reason line.
You should see: For example: 8 returning pitchers against a typical staff of 14, 4 departures in the last 2 years.

Close

  1. Click Print and show the PDF preview. Close it.
  2. Click the question mark next to the fit ring.
You should see: A short fit-score explanation opens. Choose Read more for the full article. Say: everything on this page is explained here, and you can read it at home.
  3. Ask the family for the three schools on the list they had never heard of. Those are the visit candidates.
